Valuing Lives As Top Priority

Workplace safety and health protection are one of PSA Marine’s top priorities. Our MQSD team strives to promote safety and healthy living while ensuring safety measures are being adhered to. The PSA Marine Safety Week is held annually at the start of the year as employees from all business units gather to promote the safety cause. Individuals who have exemplified and advocated safety awareness during their course of work were also commended during the event. Additionally, employees learnt more about personal wellness building through the webinars and activities held in conjunction with the event. PSA Marine values the lives of our employees, contractors and external visitors, so everyone returns to their families safely, healthily.

Reimagining Work Through Remote Surveys

In collaboration with Bureau Veritas Marine Singapore, PSA Marine carried out an inaugural remote marine survey for PSA Aspen, one of PSA Marine’s dual fuel LNG harbour tug. This marks the first time a harbour tug registered under the Singapore Registry of Ships has undergone a fully accredited annual survey conducted remotely, without a surveyor physically present onboard the vessel. This was followed next by PSA Oak, PSA Marine’s other dual fuel LNG harbour tug, completing its annual survey in the same fashion.

Streamlining Processes Through RPA

In 2020, PSA Marine embarked on the journey of integrating Robotic Process Automation (RPA) into various work processes, with the objective of streamlining recurring, mundane tasks for greater efficiency and higher work productivity. PSA Marine also collaborated with higher learning institutions as the students assumed the role as a RPA robot developer to build user-centric RPA robots. The introduction of RPA is a game changer in PSA Marine, delivering reliable results with lesser resources required.
