Fleet Engineering Specialist (Electrical / Mechanical / Welding) – 3 vacancies
RESPONSIBILITIES
(Mechanical) Candidates are expected to:- 
  • Carry out repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery onboard PSA Marine vessels;
  • Liaise with Fleet Operations team on breakdown reports and vessel status;
  • Perform lathe machining, basic gas welding and cutting works to facilitate repair to machinery;
  • Assist in lifting activities, forklift operation, confined space assessment; and
  • Perform proper disposal of used oils and chemicals.

(Electrical) Candidates are expected to:-

  • Carry out repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery onboard PSA Marine vessels;
  • Liaise with Fleet Operations team on breakdown reports and vessel status;
  • Troubleshoot and carry out thorough rectification of deficiencies in machinery and control system;
  • Perform wiring and connection of electrical cables; and
  • Install electrical and electronic accessories and components.

(Welding) Candidates are expected to:-

  • Carry out repair, fabrication and welding of steel structures and piping on board PSA Marine crafts and in the workshop;
  • Perform heating and fairing of steel hull and deck plates, brackets and frames on PSA Marine crafts;
  • Carry out maintenance of all welding equipment and gas cutting equipment in the workshop;
  • Check welding repairs carried out by contractors and to ensure quality of workmanship is acceptable; and
  • Perform operation of the plate and pipe bending machine
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate should preferably:-
  • Possess at least a Nitec in Marine Technology, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Possess a valid Class 3 driving license and MOM accredited certifications such as SSIC, Safety Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, Forklift Driving;
  • For Mechanical candidates: Prior experience in performing mechanical fitment, basic gas and TIG welding, hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting will be considered favourably;
  • For Electrical candidates: Good knowledge of electrical and instrument systems and familiar with electrical schematics diagram and symbols will be considered favourably; and
  • For Welding candidates: Good knowledge of welding processes and standards as well as capabilities to fabricate will be considered favourably
  • Candidates with relevant experience may be considered for a senior position.
